On Sunday, January 19th the 1st diving and travel fair InterDive in Frankfurt came to an end. Numerous renowned companies from the diving and travel industry followed the call of the new diving fair to the metropolis on the Main river and so more than 160 exhibitors from all over the world were present in Frankfurt, including various marine protection organisations.
A total of just over 10,000 divers and snorkellers came to the fair over the five days of the event. In addition to numerous visitors from the Rhine-Main area, guests from various parts of Germany as well as from Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands travelled to InterDive. Here, the fair scored with its central location and the optimal transport connection to the main station and the airport. The familiar atmosphere in the exhibition hall was particularly welcomed by the visitors. Hall 11.1 was exclusively dedicated to diving and thus offered perfect conditions for the guests who were enthusiastic about diving.
In addition to the various exhibition stands, the varied lecture programme on the diving stage was particularly popular. At the weekend, all chairs in front of the stage were occupied to the last seat. Another highlight of the stage programme was the auction of numerous travel and material prizes, which took place three times a day. In addition to diving trips and liveaboards, diving equipment also came under the hammer. 100% of the proceeds from the auctions went to a good cause.
A total of 17 clubs took part in the InterDive club competition: all diving clubs or associations that appeared at the fair together in club outfits and registered at the VDST stand were eligible to participate. Place 1 went with 31 participants to the HLTC Nidderau. The first place can look forward to the main prize of € 2000,-. The second (TSG Klingenmünster) and third place (TSV Frankfurt-Bornheim) each won € 500,-.
Extremely positive feedback came from the numerous exhibitors at the fair, who saw their decision to come to Frankfurt confirmed. Many exhibitors emphasized that their expectations regarding the fair were even exceeded. Many companies have already confirmed their participation again for 2021.
Walter Harscher, initiator of InterDive, is delighted with the successful premiere: "The fair was sensational! I was particularly impressed by the great, interested audience in Frankfurt. The people took a lot of time, were very friendly and were there with all their hearts. We are already looking forward to next year in Frankfurt!
